My friend Charlie Engle luckily got selected to run the Western States 100 Endurance Run this year. I have read about the Western States 100 many times, have heard of Scott Jurek’s legendary 7 consecutive wins of the event, and know of the epic status that this race holds in the ultra world. This report is a little late, but, as it turns out this blog didn’t exist when I finished. Better late then never I guess. It goes like this: About 3 weeks ago, I decided “Marcus, we need to get some serious cross training in. It is only going to make you stronger on the bike if you engage in activities other than cycling”. Well, I decided I would give running a shot.
